Ive purchased a defender steering wheel to replace my series 3 wheel , (i will keep original safe)
it fits and is a similar size so turning corners is still doable.
The only concern is that the collar that turns indicator off obviously isnt present , I have removed the one from the series just to see if its possible to attach it to defender wheel. It seems ok so I will buy a second collar.
Is it a good idea to line the new one up and weld it to the Defender wheel?
I cant see any other way to attach it.

Thanks.

Can we have a pic? Could you press a sleeve / collar / tube? You will want to get it lined up before you weld. Could you use 3 grub screws?

Can you not drill the required holes for the canceller ?
Will the defender wheel with the canceller keep the top steering column bearing under pressure as the series steering wheel does as it likely will fall to bits otherwise.
