Hi All i was hoping for some advice please. I have a 130 300 tdi defender which i am currently trying to restore i am new to this sort of thing so i greatly appreciate all the help given. The rear right hand side no longer has no power coming through for any of the lights which went all of the sudden and i am currently unsure of what might of caused this. I did recently have problems in all the lights and interior / horn i have now located this problem to be the fuses being quite dirty but in trying to find this problem i have also cleaned all the earths i could find. However with all the fuses cleaned the right side has no power coming through for brake, side light and reverse for some reason my fog and reverse are on the wrong side which i also need to correct. I have also had a problem with the right indicator with them all coming on at the same time this was also an dirty fuse but this only worked temporarily so i am also confused on why as with a brand new fuse it is no longer working correctly. I have used wire contact spray to try clean the fuse box but is there something else more effective in cleaning the fuse box or is it better to remove and try replace?. If anyone could please advise me on the best way please that would be great as i have reached a wall. Thanks in advance.

Other lights coming on with indicators could be earth fault.
I would say you need to test for positive to a known earth and vice versa.
Break it down and fix one fault at a time.

I get a similar problem from time to time with my glass fuses in my Landrover 90. The headlight stop working, even after cleaning the fuse carrier it still will play up. If I roll the fuse it will come on. Strange !

This is because it's a glas fuse with intermittent internal contact, it's a common glass fuse problem. Best to change fuse box and fuses to a blade type. Fuse problems solved.
