Defender Raptor Binnacle Fitting

Hi, Just taken delivery of the Raptor Engineering Defender Binnacle Mount, to replace mine on 1998 110. Looks good.

Will not fit yet as need a few bits and pieces. Has anyone fitted one? Is it much of a job? They say use original screws etc but all mine seem to be small self tappers so wondering if I may need something else?

I fitted one recently. The screws holding the old one have a hex bolt head but were self-tappers going into plastic inserts in the dash itself. You'll need a small ratchet and 8mm socket to get at the rear ones.
It fits well, but I was surprised/disappointed that no new spire nuts and screws were supplied for holding the instrument cluster onto the binacle as these were the bits that were broken and missing from my old one.

Do you have to remove the top dash section and steering wheel to do the job??

I didn't. There's just two screws holding the instrument cluster onto the old binacle - remove these and away you go.

Nope. But there's not a lot to see - it's the same as the original one except made from metal and then powder coated rather than plastic.
