Hi guys. Was just wondering (and hopefully this is the right thread to wonder in) whether anyone has put up any racks or storage units in the back of their defender?
I am looking to make some racks or some sort of straps to hold fly fishing gear. All I'm really after is a nice looking DIY set up that I could make myself to get my rod and net up off the floor and stop them clattering around. I also want to make enough storage to keep some camping gear as a roof tent is on the cards for the summer. I need to replace the rear door card so have got some chequer plate coming (black) and will make a foldable shelf with gas struts on it to put a camping stove on. I've seen a thread on here where someone has made a wooden one, so similar to the but made from steel I think.
If people would be would be kind enough to post pictures of what they have done or ones they have seen and thought were good that would be great.
I imagine some people use "gun rack" style mounting on a dog guard but I'd rather not have a guard up as I need to fit my bike in too. Also I quite like my dog jumping over from the back to sit in the passenger seat sometimes!
