Hi guys
I'm at the stage in the rebuild of fitting the pedal boxes to the bulkhead ( 1970 2a 200tdi swb ) and after the 2a is back on the road I plan to fit Disc brakes all round by using the Heystee conversion kits ( swivel housing made that you can fit calipers to using early Defender calipers and discs on the front and a conversion plate to fit rear calipers to again using Defender rear calipers and discs ) but still able to use land rover series parts for hubs and steering.
The 2a is on single line brakes without a servo that I had fitted everything new to when I first started doing the rebuild so will be using the original system whilst getting all the heystee and Defender parts together then once I have I will start the conversion.
Obviously I will need a servo but not sure if to go for a series servo or an early Defender servo which I will need a suitable pedal box to, also will I need to fit a Defender check valve block and anything else that I may have missed :)

I honestly don't know, but if they started putting servos on the series models, and it will be an easier fit, why not just use one of those? The brake valve proportionately splits the braking pressure so that the front gets more, stopping the back (with less weight on it) from locking up. This is particularly important with discs on the front and drums on the back. With all discs I'm not so sure, so need someone else to chip in. Also, does the valve split the system so if you get a leak on one line the other line still gives you braking. If so, I would be looking to put one in as a safety upgrade. Just my thoughts, mate. Are you keeping a thread updated with pictures somewhere?
