Hi pops,
after a couple of years visiting this forum, I decided to become a member.
This was mainly due to the lack of information about the alternators made by Denso here where I live (Brazil).
The solution here, when the original Magneti Marelli (65A) fails, is to go for a Bosch alternative.. the only problem is to find a brand new one.

My alternator just said goodbye some days ago, and I've been tempted by a Denso alternator (the same as the Disco's 300tdi) as a (possibly) better option...

Well, but here I'm just writing to say hello and introduce myself!
Congratulations for the overall quality of this forum!

Cheers!
Bruno

Thanks for the advice, chunkymunky! That's what I'm inclined to (don't want a new part which will last the same as the old one (about 150,000km)...
I live in the northeast coast of Brazil, and my plans are to visit the southmost part of South America (Ushuaia)... don't want to worry about alternator again and thats why I'm thinking about fitting a Denso Unit...

Btw, how about the wiring... some people say that's no upgrades required, whereas others say that it is needed to upgrade the diameter of the B+ cable...
