I also missed that one - I had thought of doing it myself but I wonder if they will do it two years after buying it if I take the receipt and V5 to them?

you cut out your numbers from the old chassis? If you did take all receipts, v5 and stop at a VOSA place and show them everything and they will give you the stamping tool so you can do it on the spot. If I remember correctly from reading that some where.

Gumtrees did the job as part of the insurance claim. I have all the paperwork but not the old chassis; it was weighed in.

just to update, I now have a nice shiney new Galvanised chasis, shout out to Jerry Lewis of lewis landrover services, did an excellent job and much better qute than anywhere else.

Make that chassis black quick and get security on it real fast. Clutch box and steering wheel thingy . before you get it stolen. Your pride and joy has flashing lights on it with a sign that says take me

Cheers mate, will get one of those disclocks asap and look into the clutch box

I really dont want to make it black though, have to have a think about that one

Glad you have got it done. I will be having a rear cross member fitted after a MOT failure on my 90. There is a few patches already so I'm guessing i will need a galvanised chassis in a few years. Great investment.

The chasis was £1500

The labour was 800,

We also had alot of extras like new shock absorbers, steps, brake lines, exhaust etc the list goes on so added another £700

That sounds like the Bill i am looking at but i have a new exhaust brake lines , but as you say i don't think i will get change out of £ 3,500 , ouchhhh

I dont think it will be that much, we has alot of extras and it was 3K, I reckon nearer 2.5-2.7K

Good luck with it, if you want the guy who did ours number just send us a pm.
