Defender Lower door hinge, how to tell left from right.

Painted the door hinges on my defender, unfortunately forgot which one was from the left and which one was right :eek:, fitted them up and door seemed tight, so swapped one over and it's still tight.

How do you tell the difference between them, i can't see any part number on them. When they are on the door they have a slight taper to them, should the wider part be at the top or bottom?

ermm defender door hinges int handed... try slackening them off slightly and readjusting the door. Did you take note of which shims went where??? as that's what will throw the door alignment out.
 
i didn't think so hence just whipping them off and going for it..., yeah left the shims attached to the doors so i didn't get them mixed up. Looked at a few adverts saying kit for left and kit for right so just assumed i had cocked up. Swapped them with the doors shut top ones first then bottom ones, guess it must have dropped when i leaned in the window to tighten them. Will re-adjust them thanks
 
Sorry to doubt you, but they are definitely different and taper the opposite way, so must be side specific? Front one is wider at the bottom than top. Or at least my ones are :)
