Hi folks.
I've just started driving my 90 having finally got it somewhere like back together.
On purchase i am told it has a 2" lift and that's ok as i guess its in order to get larger wheels on. Can't see much point otherwise as axles are still at same height.
When i grab ahold of the top of the vehicle to either side and rock it, she rocks like a boat, and when driving she has this horrible tendency to suddenly want to vear left and right.
Now i know landy's do have a tendancy to wonder, i've had one before, but this does seem exessive.

So... my questions are:

1. Can this suspension be stiffened in order to stop so much roll effect. I don't know what make springs are on right now but they are yellow. 3 of the shocks are terrafirma, 1 is white in colour but again.. no idea on make!!

2. Other than suspension.. what else should i look at to try and minimize this vearing off problem. The only other point on this is that i have bf goodridge all terrain on front wheels and insa turbo dakar on rears. All same size 265/75/16.

Thanks for your time guys, and girls :)

yeh, i am looking to all options, hence the thread. i'm going to take it to a 4x4 centre for a once over, but i like to get as much info on what makes to get, or indeed avoid, and also have a go at finding things myself first.

best way to learn i guess.

thanks for your input mate.

Has it got roll bars? A lot of people remove them to gain articulation, if they are missing just fit a new set, will make a massive difference

all i can say is i have tryed lifting cars in the past and like you i found they handled like the bismark so when i got my 90 i decided not to lift it as standard it had 265 tyres on so the only thing i did was to get a shadow winch bumper which helps with the approch angle
and to date i have not got stuck so your choise standard or lift

Hawky's old 90 would never have been fitted with ARBs.

Sounds like mis-matched / inappropriate springs and shocks to me.

Trewey... when are you available for a gander!!!
Got kids with it being half term and the little one won't sit doing nothing for more than 30 seconds which is why i didn't call down to you when testing her out yesterday.

Are you up this way soon?

Ah didn't know that, every days a school day...

Shocks would be next on the list personally, a set of adjustables may be good, you can set them quite hard and this will help a lot, you could then set to soft for off roading...

I think it's going to boil down to seeing what it is i have on it first. They might even be adjustable for all i know.

and massively restrict articulation;)

i would say it depends on what you are planning on doing with the car cct trials pay and play or green lanes
for me i have standard suspention with anti roll bars and i dont get stuck

Mines going to be for a bit of everything but not masses of just 1.
Mainly for a hunting vehicle that i can tackle whatever i can in when chasing hawks across country.
Want to have a go at a few meets with you guys and get into as much as i can aswel.

No point in having it and driving it as a car. Got one of them for quick running about.
