Defender - hard to value

I'm struggling to know how much cash I should expect if I reluctantly sell my Defender 90 - I will probably have to let it go and buy a Disco or something similar. It's a 1990 SWB which I have owned for 10 - 15 years after acquiring it from my father. The running gear is fine it is regularly serviced by the local garage and has covered nearly 90,000 miles. The bodywork is a bit tatty but generally fine. Some say I should sell it for spares (?!) as some people are making more money by doing that. Not many 'original' vehicles seem to make their way into the 'For Sale' columns so any guidance / thoughts would be really appreciated.
