Hi,
I have a 1997 300tdi Defender 90, and it turns out that I have front hubs/axle from a later model i.e. 1999/TD5 with the single stake nut, I have also found out that the hubs/swivel housing is from a much newer chassis number i.e. XA onwards instead of VA which mine is. Question - which hub nut washer is the correct one or doesn't it matter either FTC3185 or FTC5241 ???

thanks in advance

If you pop the grease cap off you should be able to see the end of the stub axle, which will either have a slot in it or have a flat across the threads.
Whichever one you've got will let you know which tab washer you need.

thanks, just found the below image (at work) defiantly have the flat and not the slot. but FTC5241 doesn't look like it would fit anyway even if i had the slotted stub axle as the slot on the washer doesn't look like it matches.

how many stub types were there I wonder,

another washer type, this one would match the slotted stub.
