beneath the rubber covering back lights is a rub strip-this has worn through-for some reason known to LR they didn't appear to bother clipping loom.
So thats why my sidelights decided to stay on as the wiring has sawn through and melted:doh:
To please me more there is black wire-so it won't solder and has had to be crimped until I feel the need to strip it on a warmer day
