Defender, Discovery, TD5 exhaust

Does anyone know if the Defender and Discovery TD5 models use the same exhaust system, I have seen a de cat down pipe from a Discovery and wondered if it would fit my Defender.

That is actually two questions Raywin.

The second which i think is what you are really asking is are the two downpipes the same?

Well according to this website, they both use WCD000500 at some point when they were built. Which i think are the catted downpipes. Maybe the non catted one is WCD106210 having had another look.

But, I honestly do not know if that is the case for a non cat downpipe. Assumptions could be made But i do not know .

Many thanks neilly, yes its the downpipe that im interested in. I see they sell the same part for Defender and Discovery, and if the original cat pipe is the same seems logical the replacement should be the same dimensions.
I'm tempted to give it a try
