Trying to strip this bulkhead - what's the best way to deal with this part -

IMG_20160830_192652_zpsl2znfkpi.jpg

I can take apart the linkage to the flaps down the back of the panel, but, as i dont think id be able to get them done up again, i think there must be a better way.

If i just unscrew the sub-panel (the one with the grooves on it to catch the vent lever) i dont think ill gain much.

I think i must be missing somthing?

From memory:rolleyes: if you take the pins out the flaps you can easily remove the flaps off the linkage, then remove the complete lever with bracket/ linkage from inside.

I've taken out the bit of grey plastic that would normally cover the plate in the photo - I'm certain I did not do that the right way, as I think it was close to breaking. Any tips on that too?

I was hoping the new bulkhead could be mostly built up, off the car, but, it seems, you need to take so much apart to get Tue electrics free, that that isn't really an option.

Not positive which bit you mean, but,if it's the bit I'm thinking of, then it has a long 'tab' top and bottom and is a bit fiddly to remove. You need to squeeze it together ( top and bottom towards the centre ) along its length. The plastic isn't the most flexible, so can feel like it's going to snap, but I've never broke it and you've managed to get it out.
Re-assembly is easier on the Landy, in my opinion.
