been trying to get a good series three bulkhead for a while now but ended up buying a defender one and thought it would be a simple fit, but no wrong route again, managed to get it on the chassis after chopping the transmission tunnel out, but the found that the footwells are different, after reading a previous thread it was stated that need to change both footwells for series one's, now thats another job that i could do without but is doable, another thing on the previous thread stated something about the door hinges, so what next will i have to alter the door hinges?

Door hinges are just bolt out although it might be simpler to make an adaptor plate for the series ones and weld it to the hinge the bolt to the door

Will also need new windscreen mounts

I'm surprised nobody has manufactured them again. I can only assume that the pressing of the vent area requires expensive tooling. I'm sure if you could buy a new one for £500 ish there would be plenty of orders
Ashtree refurbish and galvanise them but thats not quite the same.

I have seen a number of adverts and articles in recent landy mags regarding a company producing new series bulkheads... think they are called Pegasus (probably not cheap as a **** load of work involved - but good write ups)

I got mine from Ashtree and am really pleased with it! I like the fact that it uses an original bilkhead and has been refurbished and galvanised... top quality and the guy who runs it (Lyndon Swan) is a top bloke who delivered it personally
