Thread Update

Following on from my short outburst of " i have only bloody fixed it "

So i striped the front again to check the timing and as you guys know my amateur-ness was at fault so that was rectified swiftly. This repeat process it really helping me become a get my times down when rebuilding the front lol.

We started it up to see if it worked... It did :)..

The rebuild took minutes and then it was on to the next problem to raise its head before i could properly go out and enjoy it.

It really is more hassle then its worth trying to nick diesel. On with the new.

Now it was time to actually drive it :)

I went to work and had a play round the back where they train JCB drivers and..........

Had some fun lol.

To cap of the update a nice little stocking filler from santa.

Merry Christmas guys

Thread Update

The final piece to my winter make over has finally arrived, I am roughly happy with the progress i have made before the crap weather really sets in and stops me tinkering. So after saving up for the past few months i was now ready to purchase this lot :).

So on to fitting the wheels as i just couldn't wait :).

Then i suppose i had to make it legal to drive which meant fitting these. I love how the arches are the only thing holding my wings in shape.

On monday i will be finishing off a few little touches and ordering:

- Wheel nuts in black
- Locking wheel nuts in black
- Exhaust rubber hangers

and if the weather permits temp wise the snorkel will be fitted.

Thanks for reading

Chris

Ah, yes, I'd like 35"s for mine, but most are 12.50's. Most of the 10.50's are extreme pattern which I don't want.
But I don't want 12.50s because they stick out and not a fan of the wide arches. Can't win.

Unfortunately the land was sold today, but i just wanted to say thank you to everyone on here for the help you have provided me in my short ownership.

Thanks :)

A year ago when i bought it i was taking my first contracting job after being made redundant by the company i was with for 10 years and as i still live at home ( i am 27 ) and being told the horror stories of never getting a mortgage until you have 3 years books i thought there was no rush for me and my gf to move out. Fast forward 1 year and i am back in paye employment and sort of being forced out lol by my dad i can't afford to have all the toys i have accumulated over the years so i decided that 1 of my motorbikes stays and 1 of my mountain bikes stays plus the car i need to do my 60 mile round trip to work in. Unfortunately the landy was always a luxury and an expensive one (on going repairs) which i was more then happy to fund while living at home. Don't get me wrong i was gutted to see it go yesterday after all the work i did to it and only covering 1000 miles but i couldn't justify having it as a garden ornament.

A few of my bits that never got fitted to the defender are for sale in the for sale section including my wheels and tyres that traveled all of 200 miles lol
