Been in the dales this weekend, realised that the brakes on my td5 are poor, brake fade is worrying! I know I have got a sticky caliper on the rear.

I'm going to replace rear discs, pads & calipers anyway, will look at the fronts, I'm sure that they are cheap parts hence the heat up! The fronts have a solid disc, just wondering if there is any upgrade to vented to help dissipate heat?

I realise that this will mean changing caliper but that's not a huge problem. Defender 2006 td5

Thanks

You can refurb the calipers with new pistons and seals if you feel up to it.

I also beleive you can buy caliper spacers for your original calipers to allow for the vented discs. If you do decide to rebuild them that is.

I rebuilt my calipers, new mintex discs and pads all round and a good bleed transformed the brakes, they are pretty good now!

Hope this helps a little
