Hi guys,
Im wanting to turn my series 3 into a stage one V8, and was I wondering whether the bonnet from a defender 90/110 would fit, and whether the same mounting points as the original hinges can be used?
Cheers,
Gareth M

:welcome:

Now, that is a damned good question, I've often wondered that..:D
I don't see why not, I mean the Santana is like a Series/Defender sort of hybrid yoke. I'm looking forward to the answer to this one..

bonnet hinges are the same, but you would need to fabricate a defender front panel and frame in as well ,and still support rad, defender and series dimensions are mostly the same so that you can use dender inner wings and series outer wing etc or fit defender bulkhead and seat box etc

Yup ......

Though shortly after that i did the "decent" thing And returned it to series 3

Front panel was a fiberglass copy (series 3 steel one was hidden behind it) And series 3 bonnet hinges on the defender bonnet to match up with the hinges welded onto bulkhead.

:D

Or just sell it then go out and buy a defender.

That's if wind down windows, interior lights and reliable electrics are your thing.

Personally it think it takes away from the driving experience.

Apologies for dragging up a dead thread, but knowing what landy owners are like i thought i'd chance asking if anyone still has a slam panel/associated bits kicking about? Never ones to throw anything away!

Cheers gents!
