Hi all,

This is my first post on this forum but have in the past read many comments from it. I have decided to buy a Defender 90. My question is this.

Has anyone done a thorough comparison between the model range i.e.

Which model gives relative better value for money?

In Germany the models are the E, S, SE.

The car will be my day to day car. However I enjoy hill walking and general outdoor activities, so it will also have to double up as my :cool:expedition vehicle:D, 2 people only.

Thanks

depends on how new or old it is the older it gets the less the differance , but tbh with you its only the differance in trim ie; seats, leccy windows, heated seats/screen air con etc etc . the actual landie is exactly the same if ya want all the bells and whistles you will pay the bit extra if all the tarted up things are not for you why bother its a fookin landie at the end of the day its a tool it does what it says on the tin ;):D

Thanks for the reply Buckshot

The reason I am asking is, are there things on one model that actually add real world value, like I said having colour coding isn't high on my list of requirements, but things like heated windows would make a difference day to day. I also heard somewhere that it sometimes costs less longterm having these things right from the start rather than adding them later.

reading between the lines i take it you are buying new ? then it will add to what the defender is worth (for a few years anyway)
i have a 2006 td5 90 and that has a winter pack fitted ie; heated screen, seats, leccy windows etc and is well worth the extra imho
enjoy anyway and hope to se some picys of your perchase when you get it ;)

Yep it is almost certainly going to be a 2010 model, with a white roof and white standard wheels. Possibly in Kiswick Green. I had a look on the UK landrover web page and the repective models are E=County S=County Station Wagon and SE=XS.

In any case I will certainly post some pictures once I get it.
