Hi I seem to have a small oil leak coming from the rocker cover at the back of my engine bay. It runs all the way down and makes you think your diff pinion seal is leaking.

I have fitted a new gasket and applied a copper gasket silicone designed for engine use. I tightened bolts upto correct torque 10nm.

Although I have improved the leak significantly there is still just the tiniest of dribbles for some reason. I am at the stage now where I have said bugger it and tightened the bolts up a bit more. Surely it can only be a case of nipping it up just a bit tighter?

there is a half moon on the back of the rocker seal, it can be awkward to get sat correctly,
you can use a bit of gasket seal to hold it in place while you position it

I have just redone the seal and sealed it up even more with sealant if it doesn't work this time should I be looking at the depression control valve?
Don't know whether it will of ever been replAced and now done 65,000 miles.
