Defender 90 safari door latch

Hello all, just getting around to fitting my new safari door on my 300tdi 90 however I’m having problems with the striker being too close to the door and hitting the latch before it can fasten shut ( the opposite problem to needing shims) any help would be appreciated

If you are flat on the tub I believe your only option is going to be moving the holes the hinges bolts to in the body. I had to do this on one of my old doors and I then fitted wedge lock washers to hold it in place into an oval hole. Some pictures of the problem would definitely help.
