I changed my motor on the heater today and went for a test run to see if was blowing hot air out which it was but only lukewarm and did not seem to get any hotter. Any idea's?

Ye that had broke so i changed it to a new one but would there be any reason why the heating matrix would not get to full temp and also how would i unblock them?

Coz the matrix is probably full of crap

Take off the hoses and flush the matrix through with a garden hose on one pipe then the other till it runs clear

Don't forget there are 2 flaps inside the heater box that will cause less heat to be emitted.
The one on top of the box has to be a far over to the passenger wing as possible, this is the flap that forces teh air to bypass the matrix entirely and is moved by the hot/cold lever on the RHS of the dash.
There is also a flap on the lower left hand saide of the heater box as you look at it in the engine bay moved by the heater switch lever. It must be as low down as possible as this allows more of less air through the whole box.
Then there is the final reason I have found. Heater box has foam insulation around the joint to the bulkhead. If this has (most likely) crumbled to dust then a lot of the heat will just blow out of this joint into the engine bay instead of into the landy.

I tried flushing out with a garden hose, water ran clear but heater was still crap. The only solution is to take out the matrix so you can give it a good shake and get rid of all the crap, loads came out of mine!
