Right,

Just had a quote from the chap for a full on, all singing, all dancing, inside and out paint job including bumpers, arches etc.. and all the prep. Just drop it off with the keys and come back in a week with..... £1200 shinny coins.

I'm in the process of thinking about it. I think its a good deal, does anyone disagree?

Bearing in mind i have no driveway and no garage, plus given the impending weather i think i would struggle to do the prep myself, properly anyway.

The prep is very easy, I did all of mine with a cheap DA orbital sander from Screwfix and some 80 & 240 grit pads. The paint shop may want you to sand it down finer, but thats not difficult. It takes a day or 2 if you want to do it well but would save you a lot of money. The whole respray cost me about £350 including a compressor, gun and paint etc

It does look good, however i notice you have a nice warm garage in which your defender is housed and where work can be completed. I unfortunately do not. Not so bad doing the prep when the suns out, but when its not its difficult.

It almost sounds like i'm making excuses not to do it myself...

If it's all as good as it appears on first sight, I would just key it and paint over as it's remaining a 'Green' colour.

After conducting the research it would appear that £1200 is an excellent price for what is on offer! I shall go forth. Pictures, Landyfox to follow!! ;-)

If you're still looking for paint, try smith and alan, just brought five litres of Tractol in JCB Yellow for £30, and a litre of cold galvanising for under a tenner. They sell the paint in either in a can for hand painting, or in a spray can to match.

No connection with the seller, just a satisfied customer.
