Hi,

Just came across this whilst looking through fleebay and thought id share the information, if any one is looking for a bulkhead removal bar or thinking of doing so there is a seller on fleebay selling genuine landrover items for £65 plus £15 postage. Miles cheaper than the aftermarket ones and the ones where you only remove the top half. The only bits he hasn't got with them is the nuts and bolts. The item no is: 250764305506

i have a factory fitted roll cage and bulkhead bar in my 90. the whole of the bulkhead has been removed from new, would be quiet a job and to get it to look nice.

as for bolts just put bzp 8.8's in there

ive not really had a good look at the bulkhead yet to see how it will come out, ive seen a few pics of retro fit bars but no close ups of the side or floor where the bulkhead has been removed. I plan on carpeting the whole of the rear anyway. If it looks totally rubbish i'll just have to get another tub lol but i'm sure if I take my time it will turn out ok.

well no going back now, I got board today and hacked half my bulkhead out with the angle grinder lol. To be honest , it looks like it's going to be an easy job to do. I'll take some pics tomorrow and post them when it's all done.

yeah - doesn't look tricky at all...
Some reasonable pics of an aftermarket fit over on the 'eastcoastrover' website here

here's a few pics of the bar in place. What a difference it makes. You can push the seats right back and they can recline quite far. Although I only did it for looks as being a short ass at only 5'10" seat position was never an issue lol. I just need to carpet it out now, get some new rear seats and get a centre console for the auto box. Oh and then theres the soft top, re spray etc, etc lol

Nice job - still not sure how much extra room it'll give but I wanted one too so have started to chop away!
Just about got the cappings done now so will hack the bulkhead itself later in the week.

The other plus for me is that it'll give the NAS roll bar a bit more support as & when I get round to joining the wheel arch inners to the chassis outriggers. Fortunately the bolt holes all match up with the Safety Devices bolts...

Thoroughly recommend the bars..... boxes come with the Ford part numbers on.... and if the seller has converted them properly in WERS then these are 'Tombraider bars' ... surely that has to add a few quid to their value!

nice job on ur cappings, thats how i want to finish mine off, just I cant weld so got to wait to ask a mate lol I must admit I thought the seller was selling them a bit on the cheap side thats why I posted the thread to let folks know of a bargin. As for the extra room, when i push my seat right back my feet can't even touch the pedals. my seat has been raised up to clear the lip though. I.ve not finished yet, I,m gona remove the lip sticking up at the end of the seat boxes but need to put a support under neath it first. That will give it the proper factory finish. Trouble is with me, i've got too many projects going on at the same time lol

when removing your old bulkhead do you have to drill the spot welds from the outside because i dont wont to leave sharp edges inside ether also i dont wont to drill from outside as av just had my landy painted any tips for getting round these problems as i would really like one of these

I had to grind through two spot welds on the ally on each side. Just besides the two pop rivet holes in the picture attached.
I used a dremel with fibreglass cut-off wheel to get through them very easily. Minimal heat & no damage to the other side. It was actually 3 pieces of ally joined at that point so little chance of external damage.

Just finished fitting mine. More pics on my web page if you need em.
