Hello Everyone,

Can anybody help me, I have a gmc 6.2 v8 fitted in my 90 and all of a sudden it will not start without a squirt of easystart.
Its always been a good starter, I have replaced all of the heater plugs and had the starter motor overhauled as it was getting sluggish.
i have been told it could be air getting in the fuel system so I have added none return valves either side of the pump but to no avail.
can anyone help me?
Kind Regards
Rich

Hi, Thanks for the reply.
I have put a voltage meter on the end of one of the plugs and it read about 12 volts, I am not sure how else you could test them.

Regarding starting it when it is warm.... I would say you could give it a maximum of 10 minutes any longer and it will not start again.

Thanks

Rich

I think you have to take the glow plug out to check the resistance across it. If there isn't any then its fooked.

Have you got a good fuel delivery? Changed filters, fuel pump ok?

10 minutes, sounds like there is fuel leaking somewhere and air is getting into the system.

I had this, and it was the fuel filter seal was not seated correctly, the fuel from the top of the assembly down to the top of the filter leaked out and made starting difficult due to the air.
