Defender 90 2.5td 1989

Hi everyone

New to the forum and saying Hi.

Just came back from visiting friends in Ordadour Sur Vayres and they have Defender 90 2.5td 1989 that has a broken cambelt and destroyed the engine.

Can anyone recommend a good replacement complete engine ? They want to try and keep it original so looking for the same engine.

Also what would be the weight of the engine as I may have to get it sent over to them.

They are struggling to find a replacement in France.

I don't have a Land Rover at the moment but in the past have had Range Rover 3.9 and two TD5's when finances permit I shall be looking for 90.

Hi Trev, welcome to the forum. We've camped around that area. Oradour-sur-Glane is a humbling and haunting place to visit.
There might be someone on here who can point you to a replacement engine. Good luck

Hi yes it's beautiful area.I am also open to sourcing an engine here in the UK and then taking it over if anyone can help.
