like i said earlier on in the thread, cut the chassis number part of the chassis out and retain it for refference that you have actually had the original chassis in your possesion, take photos with the numbers in place then with them removed. Sell the chassis without id explaining the reasons why, does sound dodgy when peeps do this on ebay, you can show a new buyer the pics of the numbers in and explain the numbers have been retained on your new chassis.
If my chassis was shot i wouldnt have a problem buying it off you and using it on mine with my numbers knowing first hand it wasnt stolen.

Ok, so what happens if you change the dumb irons for the genuine reason the have rusted, and/or the chassis needs welding in the area of the chassis number due to it rusting away? You have to weld it to be safe an get an mot so your chassis number has gone anyway. By law you need 1 VIN which is the chassis plate on the servo. Yes you could get the number stamped back on (what sort of place does this by the way) but I don't know where you would get someone to do that. Grind the chassis number off/cut it out or whatever and name your price - will be some use to someone. Obviously it's easy for some dodgy characters to fit stolen parts etc this way and the police are aware of it but if everything is genuine and adds up your ok, unless the police can prove its a stolen chassis, which is impossible to prove as its not stolen, it's yours.

Richardchassis would be supplying the new one and say they can stamp the new one if you provide all the details in advance
Know anywhere that would buy it ? lol, eager to recover some of the money i'm forking out !

That's your new number sorted then, I don't know anywhere that would have a constant demand for a chassis, probably best scrapping it if you need it gone fast or hang on and wait for somebody that needs a decent chassis or repair section.

Yeh, think I will just send it to a scrappys unless I find someone who's interested in it.
I dont need it gone fast but just need to recover some of the cost.
