I have .. but mine is a 1989 90 ... with a '97 Disco front and rear axle!

Mods needed were the front brake lines are on different sides, so bracket fettling needed, quite easy. I reckon you could use the Defender calipers with the brackets already sorted, I didn't even try it as the parts were a tad corroded .. ;)

For interest, as mine had drums on the rear axle, when I put the rear Disco axle on I also had to fettle a rear plate to hold the slightly different brake line configurations, I dunno how this would be for the newer Defender, but it isn't hard anyway!.

Hi guys, can anyone answer this ,,,,,, I have a 300 tdi Defender 1994, can I fit a Disco 300 tdi 1997 front axle to my Defender or will I have to modify it??? Deano
It should mostly bolt straight on. First question though, why the need to change the entire axle?

Thinks to check. Make sure the radius arm widths are the same, they should be, but there are narrow and wide ones over the years.

Check the flange for the prop is the same, again should be most likely and easy to change if not.

Brake discs and callipers might be different. But you can probably mix and match and make it all work between the two axles.

The steering arms are different on a Disco, I forget exactly which bits are different where. But you might need to do some bits here. Just have a look and see.

Thanks 300,,, its a long story re axle,, basically a cowboy botched up some welding, the welded bracket that the spring seats in broke away from axle, and some guy has made a coos ass of repairing it, I have decided to go for replacment, I dont have a decent welder and my mechanic mate reckons axle is easiest option.
I will check the radius arms. Thanks again
