My 1995 Defender 300 will not start. When I turn the key the ignition light and cold start light on the dashboard go out but no sound from engine starting. Can be started however when pushed started on a hill. After that if engine is switched off it again fails to start. Earlier in the day there was a metallic rattling sound from under the bonnet when it was being driven which then stopped so thought the problem had gone away but obviously not. Any help would be gratefully received. Does this model have a heat shield?
