Hi everyone it’s been a very long time since I posted on here, probably years

I recently purchased some wipac led lights and am really struggling to get the plastic plinth of from the fog light, does anyone know the nut size from behind the wheel arch to the plastic plinth? 2005 defender

regards

I have just had the seam thing as the OP in the end I just broke the plastic fog light housing as they were spinning in the plastic. Then once removed I carefully cut them off with a Dremel. they were just standard bolts that the heads are molded into the plastic housing.
Interestingly on their replacements I struggled with the size for refitting. I ordered the Bearmach LED fog lights and they do not come with nuts. There are smaller than an m6, larger than and m4 and I no longer have any m5 to test them. I am sure they cannot be imperial but do not know what size actually are. I used some m6ish coarse thread plastic nuts that I had from some old number plate fittings they were a tight enough fit that the bolt threads cut into the plastics and created their own thread to tighten down. They were tight enough to hold securely and have the advantage that next time I want to remove them they wont have rusted to the captive bolt and will hopefully be able to be removed!

Fitted the bearmac led square fog & reverse lights. No problems with these
I have twin fogs as my high level work lights double as reveres. the only thing I found with them form inspection (not used yet) is the sealing on the lens is not very good so I removed and resealed the lens with tiger seal. It is never coming off now and will hopefully not let any water in either.

What I did was using an air file I ground away the plastic inside to release the bolt head and then ground the bolt head away to release the old lamp from the body. On the new replacement lamp I did the same and replaced it with an m6 stainless steel nut and bolt and washers.

Guys thank you so much for your reply’s, i was at my wits end with it, I couldn’t find the right size socket to go on so all I did in the end was line up exactly where the Rivet bolt was going through and drilled it out carefully using different size drill bits, granted it took quite a while though and ruined the drill bits
