defender 1985 fuel tank

Just converting my 1985 petrol to 300tdi .

my fuel tank has two outlets one is via the sender unit .

question which one should I Use for return and feed . or does it not matter.

the one on sender feed ,the other return, its length of pipe in tank feed needs to reach bottom

as above the diesel tank has 3 holes, the sender, the pick up and the small one near the side at the top is the return.

So take the feed from the sender if that was the pick up for the petrol
