Defender 110 versus early 110?

Hi

I have a 1983 (Y Reg) 110 V8 CSW, which I believe was one of the very first 110s. She is now a bit tatty and not so comfortable - water leaks, draughts, stiff suspension, etc, etc. I cannot afford the time to do it up, so it will have to be replaced. SWMBO is keen on another 110 - not having driven a 'modern' 110 (say 1995 to 2001), will I notice much difference between my One Ten, and a newer one?

of course-you will be prepared for leaks etc

the post 2000 ones will be less reliable

still leak, noisey maybe not so many draughts

Flimsier panels, cheaper build , rust quicker, more electricals to go wrong still manage to build leaky ones

My Mum's got a 2.5TD '88 110, compared to my '96 300. Yes faults as above, but in terms of ride, power far better. Just get that hasn't been off-roaded, and looked after.
