hello all,

when i'm driving at say 100km/h and i do a hard break it pulls to 1 side. What does this mean? Anything serious?

by the way, i think i've seen it somewhere in here before the 110 200tdi buying checklist/guide. Can someone please hand it to me? thanks.

Potentially yes, Get you tyre pressures checked and if they are okget the front and rear brakes stripped out and replace as required. Do not fook about where braking issues are concerned

It may not be related to the brakes per se.

Check that you do not have any leaking hubs or swivels. This can cause oil or grease to get onto the discs and reduce the braking effort on that side. In which case the disc will need a clean and new pads must be fitted.

However as pointed out above it could be related to the calipers, a sticking or leaking cylinder. A leaking on is easy to spot, a sticking one would be rusty but only really obvious once the pads are out. Finally also check the condition of you flexible hoses any cracking could indicate that the hose is ballooning under heavy braking and this will also reduce the brake effort that side.

Check all that first or get it all check if you are not a competent mechanic (no offence intended :) )

It is also worth bleeding the brakes. If you have air in the side it is pulling to this will reduce brake efficiency on that side.

Cheers

Andy
