I've just put a decent quality lift kit on my 2010 110 and I've found the rear anti roll bar no longer fits. From a limited test drive on the road I'm not feeling a massive difference in body roll, maybe because the new springs are so much better but I can't help feel uncomfy about this. I'm aware it's a grey mot area as well but I have my kids in this car now and again and safety is paramount.

Is there an upgrade arb to handle a 2" lift or am I worrying about nothing? With the amount of 2" kits in the market I can't believe no one has run into this problem before!

I assume if you are lifting it then you are using it for off roading, green laning, pay and play dates or some such?

Leave the roll bars off but dont throw them away. Take corners a bit slower for a while to get used to the different handling characteristics of having it lifted and no ARB's. Enjoy the extra axle articulation while you are off roading!

OK, so from some digging around and from what you guys are suggesting, it makes handling round corners more tricky. Now obviously I'm a defender driver so I'm not hanging it arounf corners at 50 but whats the real time implications?

I'd say I will be doing a split of 70 on road and 30 off. Probably not many miles in total but I'm starting to feel like Ive jumped into lifting it without understanding all the implications!

So I assume there isn't an option for an arb once youve lifted?

Not that I have ever seen. Most people fit a lift kit to increased their articulation off-road, something which ARB's have always worked against by design.

Depending on your particular concerns you might consider removing the lift kit as basically your not going to be making any valuable use of it.

Many defenders (mine included) came out of the factory with no anti-roll bar.

Mmmmm! Yeah. Need to drive it for a while I guess and then decide. Doh! Why didn't I realise this when I started! Ah well all a learning experience I guess!

I have no anti roll bar on mine nor a lift kit. I was out green laning at the weekend with a guy in 110 with a lift and no anti roll. He did not even notice it wasn't there.

Don't worry about it! You are not going to sling a fender round like a sports car, if you do you will have far more to worry about, like all the bits that will fall off...... ;p
