hey guys,
i have a concern, i have "sealed" the fuel guage sender unit with gasket sealant between the tank-oring then on oring and sender unit.
thing looks bulletproof. but f@k its still leaking,
refitted everything last night and replaced the fuel filler hose pipe between the rear fender tank and main tank.. what a mess... the tanks in and out wernt alligned.
anyhoo after much swearing and throwing stuff around, i got all in again.

tank is now fixed and doesnt leak anymore, bloody guage sender unit still leaks.
how the hell is that possible? i have added a geneour amt of sealant on all contact points.

its leakin much less, but still a trickle as i drive.. fuel level below the sender.. will add more fuel 2n and see the severity of the leak once fuel is above sender level.

so u guys have any suggestions?
i cannot tke it to the workshops over here.. they'll butcher the car, and what are they going to do differently that i could possible do myself.

plz lemme know.

tx in advance

old thread was moving more off topic ;-)
will take a pic 2n and attach it.
basically if i look underneath the car(110 def) i can see on the side of the fuel tank below the sender unit theres a trickle of fuel .
iow when i drive it and go around corners+fuel moes around in the tank and reaches the sender. it gets through and runs down the side.

will take pics nonetheless.
sux ass struggling to get these fuel leaks sorted.. losing confidence in this setup.

nope unf not, the filler is on the other side of the car,
when stadning behind the car the fille ris on the right, and the fuel sender is on the left, in the middle of the tank.
will have to take the tank out again and take sender out ..
not sure what to do in order to seal the bugger... then seal it with g@d knows what... and check it before i put it all back together.

the reason for this post is to find out, from ur experiences from what u have used to seal the unit?
or should i not use anything?

hey all, i have added mroe diesel to the tank and all is good. no leaking.
i suspect that when i re-attched the "out" fuel pipe to the trap, there may heve been fuel in the pipe that drizzledonto the sender unit, and trickled down day before yesterday.
will fill up the truck 2n, and make sure.
but i think the gasket and sealant is working like it should..fingers crossed.
