Deep Cycle Battery for Defender 110

Hi! Guys,

What the original spec on the batteries for a Def 110 2.5 NA Diesel. What is the best battery for a direct replacement. Also is the Yellow top or Red Top better for the Def from Optima. Is it better to go in for a higher amperage one than the standard?

Hi, it depends on how much you want to spend? What do you want to add the the vehicle? Extra lights, winch etc.

Just go to your local agricultural merchants and buy the biggest tractor battery that will fit.

Alternatively, you can waste £££££s and buy a crappy Optima, then buy another one in a couple of year's time.

Aye, like trewy says, get a big tratta battery. Sure I had to weld some steel bars across my battery box, but it always starts!

had a tractor battery in my old 87 90 lasted about 8/9 years before i replaced it guess what i replaced it with

Dont get a deep cycle one either - they are not designed for starting they are for winching.
