Must be a common issue with 2 door cars. I seem to remember being in one that had an electric arm that came forward to "hand" you the seat belt.

I now have an 05 TD4 SE auto with the winter pack fitted. It does 29 Mpg, so 10 Mpg better than the V6. However the V6 is a nicer drive and is much more refined and a lot less noisy.

I'd buy another 1.8 in a heartbeat but SWMBO didn't like it. Don't rush into a purchase though as there are loads out there and a rough one could end up costing a lot more than you bargain for.
Be aware a head gasket change will cost you around £150 by the time you account for everything. Then there is the timing belt and water pump plus oil for engine, gearbox, IRD and diff if you want to go that far.

Hmmm... maybe I won't rush in with the V6...
