Upon doing the head gaskets on the light weight im now wondering do I put the strombergs back on or do I put the 4 barrel holley on its not a 750 double pumper or anything like that its just a 4 barrel with a vacuum secondry anybody run a v8 with a holley on

Do you go offroad in it???

Set of SU's would be my choice Personally.

Strombergs yuk!

Holley no good at some angles offroad either up down or side slopes one or other usually dumps fuel in and it runs like a bag of Poo

Although bhp is a bit of a bollix figure twin SUs as fitted as std to many LRs
With plenty of tuning to engine inc jetting of carbs and many a rolling road session SUs are good for roughly 220bhp.

My bro built a 3.5 rover unit rolling roaded at 212 bhp and some silly torque figure.

Again unless you genuinely have a 220+ bhp unit I'd go SUs all day.

I agree, I built a 3.5 for me trialer with piper 270 cam, ported heads and SU HIF's. I think it ended up with BAF needles and it never missed a beat off-road whatever the angle. only other option I would consider is injection, def not a Holley.

wot he sez,
as the holley will look good when you open the bonnet,
in reality, unless your just a tarmac to$$er, your holleys will end up being an eggbox full of problems that you`ll not want when the going gets tuff..
