Decisions, decisions

After 2 days looking at Discovery Tdi's I've found 1 I like. Trouble is it's also the most expensive, go figure, and now I don't know what to do. It would basically wipe out my entire budget and leave nothing for and repairs. The MOT is new so it shouldn't need anything straight away, although I did spot an oil leak but only when the engine was running I think. The bodywork is in excellent condition underneath although there is some bubbling on the top side.
I'm in no rush but I do wonder if something as good as this will come along again.

Details? age mileage model price?

It's a '98 R reg, 107k, service history for the first 54k, no record of timing belt change, all MOT's present and had rear shocks done recently and glow plugs. Very tidy leather interior and only 1 sunroof.
The lowest we got down to was £2500

and I think that is overpriced by a couple of hundred. I wouldn't even consider paying 2.5k for a disco of that age, walk away.

£2500 is too much, plus I've never come across a DI with only 1 sunroof??? Needs a timing belt; oil leak etc etc.

£1000 to £1500 tops - if your budget is £2500 you really must leave yourself with some dosh to put things right that will inevitably need doing.

A mot doesnt really mean squat either , if you want to pass a car you can get it passed lol

pas of mine picked up a d1 gs on a r plate for £850 ok yes needs some welding doing but for the most part its honest. If your in no rush keep looking pal

Mine only has 1 sunroof (and doesn't leak!!!!!! YET!)
I got mine for £1000, paintwork is tatty but all the welding has been done by a landrover dealer and full service history by landrover dealer. They are out there, just take your time.

I only paid £1K for a '96 ES in good condition except the usual few bits and this was last year, £2500 is way too much, I have seen real nice 3 door 300TDi's for under £2K!!

£1k got me a 3 door R reg with full mot and 6 month tax, 2" body lift, 2" front suspension lift, massive descent mud tyres, and in a generally ok state for the age.

for £2500 i'd expect it to come with a chauffeur for when you want a drink!

for £2500 do you get a pole dancer ???

1k for mine @ 200k miles but service history to 175k. chassis been waxoiled for its life but needs new boot floor. i found that when they know a problem with it and they tell you you can knock it down on price a bit. as i knocked 200 quid off mine for the boot floor and a new one costs 50 quid.
