Hi ALL
I have recently bought a 53 reg TD4 5 door freelander, now being new to this type of car when I used the electric switch to drop the tail gate window it went down and then stayed down, bummer??, when I mistakenly used the rear tail gate handle to undo the door the window suddenly popped back up but then would not respond to the internal switch.??
I took it to my local garage and explained the problem, he removed the power supply to the battery I assume the positive lead, and the tail gate window with the key in the rear door allowed him to raise and lower it, when he reconnected the battery lead the internal switch worked??
He has told me I need an auto electrician to look at the car as he says I have a dead short?? However the tailgate window opens with the switch and closes and with the key in the tailgate it open and closes?? Is this a freelander "isum" or do I have an electrical glitch?? As always the experts are the people that own these cars not always the mechanic no offence to the mechanic
