I have absolutely no idea how my motor ran when I bought it. A top end rebuild revealed 1 plug cross threaded, both exhaust manifolds blowing each on two cylinders, inlet manifold leaking, injectors at 45% flow rate, 6 were leaking, fuel pressure regulator on it's last legs, valves were gummed up, the cats had collapsed and were binned, 1 had a very large jubilee clip holding it together, but today was the icing on the cake. Off came the rest of the exhaust for (ahem) modification, the contents spilled onto the floor and yes it is the contents of one catalytic converter you can see in the photograph on the mats and the slug trail between the middle box and the mats. Rover V8s are unbelievably robust engines, god I love 'em.:D

wish i could get my cats out without damaging the exhaust, i wanted to see how it sounds with the bulges in the exhaust where the cats go. see if it makes the sound better or worse! or see if it fills wit water and fecks the engine up!!!

that's a bit messy isn't it?! Got a good one for you here, and it's true.

When my mate was training to be a mechanic, he got a job at a garage to do his apprenticeship. A newish Audi came in to be looked at as it was making some weird noises and the power steering felt "off" to the lady owner.
My mate gets called into the workshop with a "I got a good one here for you Tim....!" When he got over to the car, the mechanic told him to get stuck in and sort the problem out.
The problem being that a cat had crawled up between the serpentine belt to sleep in the warm engine bay. The woman had come back out of her house a few hours later and started the car up, killing and mincing the cat. She also didn't notice the problem until about a week later, by which time the cat was rather well cooked. He spent about 2 hours picking bits of feline from the gubbins. Almost put him off the job for life.

It appears this is yet another way to skin a cat.

that happened at work once, cat crawled into fork truck and went to sleep. fella started truck and battered it to death with the fan on the engine!!!

i ****ed myself when he told me!!!
