De tweek the pump maybe

Hey I have a 300tdi which I'm pretty shur my pump has been tweeked as she pulls abit to well for an old disco but does let of alot of smoke and it's just abit to much for me.

So was wondering what I will be looking for the to see if the pump has been tweeked and what I shid do to stop it from smoking to much if it has been tweeked.
It has the egr blanked and a will have a decat on it befor I play with the pump.

I did read alittle on the post what tells you how to tweek but just want to ask how I put it back to the way it was and start again.

Yeah I did keep an eye on oil level and water level over the past couple of weeks and they are just fine.
Mpg isn't that bad realy and the engine pulls realy well and alot better than my mates 300tdi so hence why I was thinking the pump has been tweeked but just wanted to know if there's a way of telling if it has been played with and how to resett.

What colour smoke and under what conditions ? Cold start ? etc.

O yeah I surpose I shud put more info about that lol.
It smokes on every start up warm or cold and when exchelating hard but not normal driving it's fine realy maybe the odd puff of smoke.
It's black/greyish smoke on start up and when driving.
But as I say the engine pulls realy well and oil and water is fine and so is the temp as well in fact the temp is realy good nevers goes past half way on the gadge.
Bascily running of the engine shows no bad signs to me but this is my first landrover so I'm open to any comments

Yeah it's what I thought but the odd time at night on the motorway if I drop a gear and put my foot down the car behind me gets covered in smoke lol

Always looks worse at night..if its running well and, more importantly, passing its mot...dont touch it. It'll turn to ****.

that sounds normal to me. you can always see smoke a lot more at night, they probably hardly notice. if MPG ent too bad and it gets through the MOT i would class it as a bonus, just be a little lighter on the accelerator and it wont smoke.

Or adjust the smoke screw on the back of the pump

Wud be nice to know if the pump has been tweeked tho.

Just be grateful it's running well, there are peeps on here that would hit you over the head and steal a well set-up pump, (and engine, and gearbox, and diffs), you know what I mean...

Haha wud have to be something big to hit me with as i won't be letting this go for a long time lol
Na I know what you mean and as i said guess I was just worrying about nothing like I normaly do haha
