right do i spray the landrover when its alll together all do i spray them bit by bits. what are the pros on and cons ?? cheers

Provided you have a big enough compressor I'd do it all at once.
No chance of slight colour changes then between panels then.

surely if its all on the chassis you will have to do more covering up with sheets and making sure it dung get everywhere etc. Its only a few panels and some doors, do it while its all off.

But saying that Aaron has done a rebuild and i haven't.

I did mine in bits and there was slight variations between panels.

But I'm self taught so some one who knows what they're doing could probably get a perfect match.

Its swings and roundabouts I suppose as I agree with the more masking up ect... I put some stuff on the chassis (Bulkhead and rear tub) as I didn't want to damage them putting them on once painted. And ended up with over spray all over the chassis axles ect that I had just painted.

Well first go at spraying what u think of the colour, roof will be black, black extended wheels arches, black spare wheel carrier , black rims , black tyres :p black plating in the front, and black bumper....

Pictures make it look better then it is , needs wet and dry and another top layer and it'll be good then, feedback wanted :).

Would you use a clear coat on top of the cellulose of just leave it? been reading that it goes dull over time. It needs wet and dry and another topcoat anyway so wont be a problem.

Cellulose will dull slightly over time, But you can always mop it and it will come up good again.

This was my first painting experience.

I used cellulose but never lacquered it as I thought it's just another thing to go wrong and didn't want to chance it.
Held up pretty well without the lacquer so was happy.

I then built this.

I decided to give 2k a bash, And wow, Such a superior paint, Better coverage. And the finish felt a lot better.
Again I didn't lacquer it. Cant say how well it has stood up as I sold it :(

I never had to mop mine. That's how it came out of the gun.
Use high gloss thinners and you'll get a nice finish out of the gun without the need to mop.

ive been using sparex cellulose paint and there own thinners, might try the high gloss stuff, where would i buy some ebay lol

Yep I got all the paint for both of mine of ebay. Might be a little cheaper from a local paint supplies but I find it easier to just order of ebay.
