Dating letter

Hi,

I recently imported a Land Rover Defender and misplaced the non-UK registration document. DVLA advised me to get a dating letter/certificate. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Which country did it come from? DVLA lost the UK registration document for my van and would not send me a replacement (because I did not have a UK address ) instead they sent me a permanent export certificate which I then used to register the van in France,
I would think you need to contact the DVLA equivalent in the country the Defender came from and they will send you something to let you register it
