Does any one know how, or even if it's possible to work out the year of manufacture of the engine/gearbox/transfer box from their serial numbers?

Thanking you in anticipation.

It is possible, but im not sure how, although i suspect someone on here will know.
When i had mine impounded by the police at Christmas they did just that to check the bits, and explained to Landy specialist who held the car for them how to do it. he didnt even know.

Hey up Frosticles nice to see you back.

Beamends had a bit on their website explaining the chassis number which I can't find now! But I want to find out if the gearbox and transfer box are the original ones for the vehicle.

Hi Grunt,

I read the post about a rear Disco 2 light and was pi$$ing myself, with the last couple of "sympathetic" posts. Good to be back on!

700 posts.... do you ever go to work?!!

RST ?

Thats what it's all about having a laugh it sometimes go's a bit pear shaped and some one gets a sulk on, but by and large it's typical pub banter.

a newbie posted earlier today dreading a reply from me!!!!!!!!!!! I don't understand why. Slobs a lot worse!

I'm not sure why but he seems a bit suspicous.
