Hi All

What could be the cause of the milometer / LED dash display on a RR not being lit up to one side, one I'm looking at is quite dull to the left. Bulb? If so difficult to fix? Minor it seems unless there's a more fundamental reason its not working correctly.

Also, where is the coolant overflow pipe located please? If coolant is slightly overfilled, is it likely to spue out the pipe until it drops to it's normal level?

00 4.6HSE in question...

Thanks.

Oh yeah, and temp guage sitting a mm or 2 over half way... but doesn't go up from there at all.

I have exactly the same issue on my mileometer readout on the dash - apparently its a little bulb behind the readout and to get at it you virtually have to dismantle the dash :(- so I was told by an independent dealer who used to maintain my Rangie. Unless the dash has to be removed for something else, forget about it - I can still read the readout on mine although the one side is dark, the LEDs are fine and its not a functional problem, just an aesthetic one!!

If you're on about the instrument binnacle, it's an easy fix. Remove the lower fascia closing panel, undo 4 screws holding binnacle surround in place, remove binnacle, release fuel flap wiring harness, change bulb. Refit in reverse.

When checking you have got the bulb in properly and verifying it works DONT switch the ignition back on until BOTH wiring harnesses are plugged back into the binnacle though otherwise you will trigger an SRS FAULT. Then you will need a computer to reset the fault.
