easy one if u got the manual, what is the dash light next to the glow plug orange light that goes off when you turn ign on, after a few secs roughly same time as glow plug light ,its last one on right and red
 
"Engine malfunction - AMBER (Diesel models)
Illuminates briefly when the starter
switch is turned to position ‘II’. If it
remains on, or illuminates at any
other time, the engine management system
requires attention. Stop the vehicle as soon as
safety permits and switch off the engine for at
least 30 seconds; if the light illuminates again
after the engine is restarted, it is permissible to
continue driving (with reduced engine power),
but qualified assistance must be sought as
soon as possible, to prevent potential engine
damage."
 
who do u think i am, david bailey lol, not got a clue how to do that, its last dash light on right next to glow plug light. comes on with all the ign. lights goes out just before orange glow plug lights then car starts.
 
well i thought everyone with a diesel would know, its not the glow plug light so can it be something do do with the imob or something, every one i have seen has it but never asked,
 
Hi Birdman

You need to download the 'RAVE' Land Rover technical file, it has a wealth of information regarding FL's, and others. Not sure which link I used on this site, but if you type 'rave download' into the search tab, you will find it. :)
 
This is why I suggested that you download the RAVE technical manual. It states,

The trailer light will flash once, when the direction indicator is operated, if no trailer is connected. Or if there is a bulb fault when you have a trailer connected.

its not that, switch ign on row of lights on, wait a sec glow plug light and this red light go out car will start, nothing to do with a trailer i dont think,
 
Sorry birdman, I'm looking at all the controls, and there is no square around a car I'm afraid. I've got an '01 year FL, it should be the same as yours, but I can't see the warning light you mention :confused:
 
its next to the orange one, wish i could post a pic, just looked its a bit oblong, nothing in the middle of it, more like a steam engine if that makes sence.
