Hi was running some spots in today when the side lights fuses blew seems the previous owner had wired the old spots in incorrectly.

However now my interiors dash lights do not work, the side light indicator illuminates but no dash all other lights work well.

I have checked all the fuses and traced it backs to no power on the red and white supply line.

Is there a relay that i should check, does anyone know where this line picks its voltage from, traced it back to the back of the steering column but it disappears into the loom

Sorry it is 2.5 turbo year 91

"the side light indicator illuminates but no dash all other lights work well"

If fitted, you haven't just turned the panel lights off at the switch have you?

My panel light switch is in the middle location

From the owners manual (what do you mean you don't have one?).

A. Press the upper end of the switch : panel lights on.
B. Return the switch to the centre position : lights off.
C. Press the lower end of the switch : interior lights on (if fitted).

Sounds like you have switched them off.

Litch, just went out and tried it in all 3 positions and still no dash lights. To dark tonight but will check fuses tomorrow. Off the top of your head do you know which fuse it would be ?

Also can i get that manual online ?

Ahh thank you result....but feel a bit daft I also took the floor out today and cleaned up the gearbox area in readiness for Landyman to renew the crankshaft oil seal. Going to spruce up the chassis and floor whilst I got access.
Thanks again have done quite a bit of work on her will start a thread and post some pickies on soon.

Unfortunately off hand I don't know which fuse (someone will be along soon who does) but a quick continuity check of them all would take just a minute. It is going to be a lighting fuse.

You can probably get a copy of the manual on-line (once again, someone will be along soon who has a link) though personally I just buy a hard copy as a book is easier to refer to when required. Most are still available new.

Litch, no problem!

I shall wait for someone to comment and inform me, but yes as you say a quick test will tell me.

Hi All. Have checked all fuses in the middle and they appear to all be fine. Anyone know anything that affects the dash lights ?

You should have a red wire going from the head/side light switch to the panel lights.

Check that you have 12V both to and from the switch, especially if you have another switch for the panel lights.

Renew/replace as required! ;) ;)
