Dash Led

Hello.
So like everyone else I wanted to replace my standard lamps within my dash clock for nice bright led version. Seamed simply enough but having just tried fitting them they are a right pain.
They only went half way up the White lamp holder which I found odd. I turned the dash on and they were still green a quite dull. Seamed odd as the lamps are bright white.
So pull all the lamps back out again and the white holder was hot where the lamps would fit all the way. I took the engine temp guage out and have noticed inside the gauges the insert is green, so no matter what lamp I put in the dash is this dull green colour and the led lamps fit up the White holder but when they reach the green part won't go no further
So any ideas guys?.. Will post picture of the LEDs I got for it in abit.
I want bright white dash clocks but seams White the green inserts inside the gauges they will always be green?..
Anyone else had this issue?

Here are the lamps.

Take the insert out? On the corsas you have to remove the filter/diffuser too.

I put some similar ones in mine, the filters on the dials changed the colour a bit, but I think they looks good.

James where did you get your bulbs from.?!

Is next thread gonna be "help my clocks are too bright I can't see where I'm going at night" they're coloured for a reason .........guess how I found out?

EBay, just search for LED side light bulbs, I think ones without lights on the side would fit in the holders best. They are just normal white ones.

The clock is a different bulb and is green tinted so I left that.

I got a kit from EBay with a set of the correct led replacements for the bulbs in each dial. Much brighter, so I can now see them, but no where near too bright, just right. It was over a year ago so no way to link, but would definitely recommend. Turned my dash lights blue too.

Mine are Blue, be careful what led's you use, if they are too bright they will light up your face at night and you will look like a right tit.

Those don't look right, the led's on the side will cause the bulb holder to heat up, they look way too bright as well.
Don't use led's designed for side lights, they are not the same thing and will be way too bright.

Dude, you put the red lights on the front instead of the back in that pic!

The ones I bought are perfect, not too bright at all, but they are the cheaper ones I think, more like these.

I got similar LEDs for mine and had the same problem with the green insert.....soon sorted out with a drill.

The insert is plastic and drills quite easily put don't push as you will go through and bend the display.

Then you will find the LEDs also plug in further.

They were sold to me as dash lights but I can see what your saying. I noticed the holder was hot even after 5 mins. So anyone else got a different type?..I don't want to melt the holders. Lol

As above, I was just going to link to those, pretty sure that's the ones I used too. The ones with the multi led sections on each bulb seem OTT and may be crazy bright.
