Dash for '86 Defender 90

My Defender has been lovingly restored and looks brand new on the outside... but the dash and speedo console look their age.
Don't want to 'pimp' my ride or make it look too modern just shiny and new.

Any ideas where I can get a new dash that's the same or similar to the original?

just showing it's age, it's cleaned up pretty good but still could be better!

The most modern you could easily put in would be the TD5 dash.

I'd really like to keep it as close to its original as possible. Just can't find anyone out there selling new dashes for it..

For clarification are you on about the center console which would house the radio maybe on yours and the radio and various switches on later models? Or the entire softdash and surround?

For the center console you could go for the MUD/RDX plastic dash and get your choice of switches (Carlings look quite OEM) but you have cut it yourself to fit. Theres also the Raptor kits, come in black anodised aluminium which are pre cut to accept your choice of switches. Both look good and are well made, however many people said that you need to bend the gearstick.

You can get new grab handles and heater vent controls new from ebay, the rest would have to be a breakers yard I expect. However what you could potentially do is cover the lot in black leather. Theres a company on ebay who sell precut leather for defenders, its high quality, durable and easy to clean. In all black without any coloured stitching it would be hard to notice a difference but would look almost OEM and add a touch of 'plush' lol

I have covered a dash top in ebay leather and it looked good, But the end panels are better OE as they don't cover too well due to complex shape.
